Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu!

Mar 24, 2024
But a small dark figure that none had observed sprang out of the shadows and gave a hoarse shout: Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu! An axe swung and swept back. Two Orcs fell headless. The rest fled.

This post is more themed than the ones that appear in the "Filling Up the Corner" series. Today we focus on one of the heartiest of folks in Middle Earth, Durin's Folk--Dwarves!

Khuzdûl has a very small corpus of sentences. We know of three complete sentences:

  • Balin Fundinul Uzbad Khazaddûmu: Balin son of Fundin Lord of Moria,
  • baruk Khazâd: axes of the Dwarves,
  • Khazâd ai-mênu: the Dwarves are upon you!

Also, we know 39 words and 30 names.

This time I've included PDFs that you can print on standard letter paper at home if you'd prefer, instead of using a professional printing service 🍃

P.S. Feel free to ask for any of the previous sets in letter paper format(except the MTG set, for software reasons 🙄).
